Over the last 80 years, Jägermeister has been producing the world famous herbal liquor. Based in Germany, Mast-Jägermeister SE is a highly renowned global enterprise boasting worldwide success, distributing its products to 150 countries worldwide.
In recent years, the Mast-Jägermeister Group has become a pioneer of digital transformation, taking advantage of technology in order to improve and streamline their administrative processes. As part of the company’s aim to digitize, Mast-Jägermeister Group has implemented DocuSign eSignature in order to sign contracts and agreements more efficiently.
Pioneers of Digital Transformation
The Mast-Jägermeister Group recognized the benefits of digital transformation several years ago and has digitized and automated their processes one by one. Digitization is a constantly evolving process and not something that happens overnight, which is why the company has taken a gradual approach when implementing new tools and solutions.
At the beginning of the pandemic, digital processes had already become the norm for Mast-Jägermeister Group employees. Instant communication tools such as Slack and video conferencing were already part of everyday business life. In addition, employees were not full-time available to sign in-person at the HQ, so a signature process that could be completed anytime, from almost anywhere and on any device was vital—even before the pandemic.
"In order for digital transformation to be successful at Jägermeister, new tools and solutions need to be embraced by our employees. We train our colleagues and give them the opportunity to get questions answered quickly and directly via a DocuSign help channel in Slack. Because even the best tools can be unsuccessful if employees are not appropriately involved," said Marc Hofmann, head of subsidiary management.
Strategic rollout of e-signatures lead to success
At the beginning of 2021, Mast-Jägermeister SE decided on a top-down approach for the company-wide implementation of DocuSign eSignature and initially started using it at board level. The Executive Board secretariat completed DocuSign training and adapted to the new tool quickly. Initially, employees were able to send all documents that required Executive Board sign-off to the board secretariat which allowed them to learn how to use DocuSign eSignature in practice. The tool was then rolled out across the company which included setting up and training new users which was complemented by resource manuals and training videos.
Going paperless and improving processes with DocuSign eSignature
For the Mast-Jägermeister Group, introducing DocuSign eSignature was necessary in order to meet its objectives of simplifying the signing process and reducing paper consumption and reliance. DocuSign eSignature is currently being used by various departments within the Mast-Jägermeister Group, with each department adapting it to suit their needs. Across the company, DocuSign eSignature is significantly improving security and speeding up contract turnaround times—thus empowering the organization to meet its business objectives.
"Our goal in the global implementation of e-signatures at Jägermeister was to establish and to maintain a company-wide standard," said Hofmann. "Process security and speed were the focus here."
